Which press is the most important of all three? Or should I do a combination of all three?
-
Definitely sounds like it is a form issue - I have had multiple dislocations on both shoulders and reconstruction on one. The leverage is great because I can isolate the chest better.
First drop the amount of weight. Use a slow controlled motion on the way down with chest tense. Pause at the bottom and push out briskly.
Also don't worry if you don't go down on your chest. I usually have 1-2 inch gap between the bar and chest.
Always concentrate on using your pecs.
What weight are you doing? Kg preferably

Hey Ferret,
Do all three pressing movements. The more variety the better.
But if I had to choose one, I would recommend incline bench press. This will hit your chest and shoulders. Plus it hits the upper chest which is more important to develop in my opinion.
Thanks, Sam.

Thanks Sam, I'll try to do all three then, when doing so should I do one set of each, or should I just do three sets of each?

Hey Ferret, If you are just starting out go to our website and look up the Basic Weight Training Program. If you can't find it send me an email and I will send you a link.
This program is perfect to start out with - I even use it myself when I coming back from a lay off.
