This video shows the exhumation of 14 missing german soldiers from a mass grave in Villeneuve-Loubet, near Nice, France.
These soldiers were members of the Reserve Divison 148, under Generalleutnant Otto Fretter-Pico. They were killed in combat in Villeneuve in a battle against Canadian and American soldiers of the "First Special Service Force" after the allies landed in southern France in August 1944. Locals buried the bodies in a mass grave that was only rediscovered in 2006. The bodies were later reburied at the Berneuil German Military Cemetery in France. Several bodies were identified, and a few surviving familly members were found.

Exhumation a Villeneuve-Loubet d'une fosse commune contenant les corps de 14 soldats allemands portes disparus. Ces soldats avaient ete tues a Villeneuve dans un combat contre la First Special Service Force en aout 1944. Les corps ont ete retrouves grace aux temoignages et a l'aide precieuse des habitants de Villeneuve. Grace aux plaques d'identités decouvertes sur les corps, une partie des soldats ont pu etre identifiés, et quelques familles ont pu être retrouvé.

Ausbettung von 14 vermisst Deutsch Soldaten neben Nizza, in Frankreich. Diesen Soldaten sind in August 1944 gefallen, und Zivilisten hatten sie in ein Massengrab beerdigt. Die Soldaten mit Erkennungsmarken könnten identifiziert werden, und für ein Paar könnte die Famillien wieder gefunden sein.
