don't know if it matters anymore, but there are several versions of the FFXI Config in your steam file, the one that steam pulls up doesn't seem to affect the config used when you play it via playonline(after steam initiates playonline). i had to look in
Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\f
fxi\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ToolsEU Changing visual settings there seemed to work.

@Smari00 Dude if you've till got that problem. Go to Program files - Steam - SteamApps- common - ffxi- SquareEnix - Final Fantasy XI - Tools EU (of Possibly US depedning where you live :P) And you should be able to find the config in this folder which "will" change your settings. I had some trouble myself until today. Hope this helps if you still have this problem.

@RTpmwe same thing happens to me. None of the settings I save in config are actually applied to the game (resolution, enable controller etc)
I bought the game through steam and did everything you did in the vid, even used regedit to try and up the graphics but they don't change at all. :S

@Smari00 Generally I would avoid steam but that's for reasons other than graphics.
You may need to change additional settings in the steam console.

This doesn't work for me, I set the resolution to 1920x1080 and changed other settings as well, but nothing happened.

@RTpmwe You may need to change the res in the registry as well if you notice no change. However, there should be some change unless your monitor doesn't support the resolution you are setting the game to.

Is there an way to change the resolution settings for the Xbox360 version of this game?
Srxjer 3 years ago
Well the resolution can support widescreen and normal TVs, as well as HD TVs.
Unfortunately it seems the only resolution you can change on the xbox 360 is on the TV it self.
