Just SUCH a wonderful film. Stop going on and on about the gay themes. It is about time it just became a "normal" theme, just like being straight. Grow up, world!

The Kids are Alright was dull and did nothing a thousand other activist movies haven't already done. It's getting to the point all your need to get critics to croon about your movie is to either look ugly and/or play a homosexual role. If the gay was written out of the movie, the critics would tear into it! Brokeback Mtn. was good because it wasn't a preachy movie and would have had the same impact if the homosexuality was writen out. That's the test to pass when dealing with activist content

I overanyalse things too much Im really happy a family like this is presented in a mainstream film. Step foraward. The next step is noot having one of them cheat with a guy in it.

@Smalltowngal29 I don't think the movie is about a lesbian relationship but I do think the lesbian part is the HOOK to get people interested in seeing the movie! I fully recommend this film, it's a nice well written family style story!

Awesome movie! Only part I would change is Annette Bening, I can't stand her!
Key word: Family.

Annette Bening looks like Ellen. Is this what happens to women at a certain age in Hollywood? They end up playing Ellen in a movie? This looks appealing because of Mark Ruffalo and the interactions with the kids. The lesbian couple angle doesn't bother me. It's so part of mainstream life now, right or wrong it's there. Deal with it.
