Actually thats all obama has going for him says many things, to many people as various times. kinda like a chameleon; he accomodates to whoever hes speaking to at any given moment. We dont know who obama is or what he stands for or anything. He is simply a good orator. The only reason most people of color are voting for him is because hes half black. lol Its sad that the public can become so visibly taken up with a shell of a man with very little substance. Additionally, beaglenut, McBush went to great lengths [ and in fact did not mention at all] those issues which were not siamese with the most conservative platform in memory, those issues which he claims earn him the moniker of maverock; global warming, campaign finance reform and torture. It was a terrible moment for a man who prides himself on steel and honor.

The Republican Convention was unusual for a variety of reasons. To begin with, the word Republican was banished from the convention hall, invisible for obvious reasons . Secondly, the sitting Republican president was in absentia, something that hasnt happened in decades. Thirdly, McCain was forced, per the weakness, of the Republican brand, to perform a kind of magic trick in his acceptance speech; pretend the Bush admistration never happened while promising to change what never happened.

Kerry did not lie about his Vietnam experience. All the attempts to smear him by the Swiftboaters, et al., have been repeatedly debunked. Sarah Palin spoke about "issues," but gave no specifics regarding how she would address those issues. She has virtually no experience in government; she's been governor for less than two years of one of the least-populated states in the union. What makes you think she's qualified to run the country if McCain, a 72-year-old with a history of cancer, dies?
