Brother Stephan Nehmeh Beatification
Part of Patriarch Sfeir Sermon "Saint Cyprian and Justina Monastery" at Kfifan, Batroun, North Lebanon on June 27, 2010 in presence of Cardinal Angelo Amato, Perfect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, representing His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI

Below is the Translation:
Everyone is invited to Holiness, but holiness gate is narrow as Our Lord Jesus said "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat"
But Brother Stephan Nehme entered to Holiness through this narrow gate. He left his village "Lehfed" when he was 16 years old, two years after losing his father, to join the "Lebanese Maronite Order" wearing the monastic dress a week later in "Saint Cyprian and Justina" Monastery Kfifan (village in Batroun, North Lebanon). Sixteen monks lived in this monastery in 1905, six of them were priests. Brother Stephan offered his monastic vows in Aug 23, 1907 with five other brothers, at almost 18 years old. He became a master carpenter after the novice period, where it was said: "Brother Stephan never leaves the saw, fearing that its handle gets cold". He worked in the gardens and the vineyard helped with the strong body that God gave him. After that, he was transferred to the Monastery of Mayfuq (close to Our Lady of Ilige) where he spent three years...
Brother Stephan used to say: My parents used to gather the family every night to pray faithfully the Rosary and the Litany of Our Lady, and my departed mother used to explain to us, as much as she knows, the religious and moral teachings and strengthen the spirit of piety and faith, the love of God and the Virgin Mary. We rejoice in Saints, especially from between us, the ones they lived like us, on this fertile land (Lebanon), but our joy will be greater if we make their lives a model for us and we become like them in God's grace. Someone used to say:" There is nothing to regret in life but not being a Saint". Amen
