Lecture Title: "17th Century Though"

April 16th, 2009

Professor Courtenay Raia lectures on science and religion as historical phenomena that have evolved over time. Examines the earlier mind-set before 1700 when into science fitted elements that came eventually to be seen as magical. THe course also question how Western cosmologies became "disenchanted." Magical tradition transformed into modern mysticisms is also examined as well as the political implications of these movements. Includes discussion concerning science in totalitarian settings as well as "big science" during the Cold War.

  • Is she wearing panties though? And would she f#%k on a first date? These are the indomitable questions perplexing my poor weak psyche.

  • @yvette74731 She's got Amy Winehouse's hair.

  • @freebuzzard I disagree. And I think it's pedantic to call this lecture a travesty. I've been fact checking this whole lecture and she's pretty spot on. And Giordano Bruno was burned for his heliocentric views and not his hermeticism.

  • @freebuzzard

You should set the record straight by getting a PhD, become a prof at UCLA, and put out a set of lectures. Especially touching on sensitive subjects that someone else might disagree on.

Let me know when the lectures will be out. Have a nice day.

  • The Professor obviously has not read Frances Yates "Giordano Bruno and Hermeticism. Burned at the stake for his view that Christ was pure spirit. Not at all. Misinformation and a travesty of a lecture.

  • I love it when she rolls her R around 30 minutes in.

  • YouTube educates!

    Thank's
