Good topic 4, it makes me ill that young men /women in this day and age have no respect for the consequences of their actions. A friend of mine is part of a group who mentors young men who's fathers aren't around, most of the time its due to said party not being man enough to step up to the plate. I also agree there's a lot of selfish women out there who use things of this nature as a trap, My cousin as an example being the trapped party..Gotta learn respect for each other.

People can't even manage their dogs/cats. We have lost our sense of discipline and drive in many areas of living. Obesity has taken over people in American/UK. It's quite sad.

I've seen parents who do not blink at their children's eating habits too. I am a teacher.

I agree w/ you, 4DBT. Both parties have a responsibility in preventing pregnancy. Don't intentionally set out to make someone a parent before they're ready. A baby is no guarantee that they're going to stick around for YOU. But if you do have a child under these circumstances, that's no excuse. You are still responsible. 

Years ago a teacher of mine said that every time you have sex, there's a possibility that person could be the mother/father of your child. When you think of it that way...

I agree that the breakdown of the family, esp. absent fathers, is a contributing factor in many of society's social problems. I also think many social problems have contributed to this breakdown. It's sad. It's crazy how easy it is to walk away from something you created.

What? A sin? A child is a sin? Maybe the child was conceived "in sin" (if that is in line with the parents beliefs) but the child him or herself a sin? I don't think so. Children who were conceived during a marriage between married people (i.e., not "in sin") are also abandoned, not conceived by honest means, etc. So, are those children sins, too?

I do agree that parents must take responsibility for their children.

Sometimes a bby is born with cancer or some terminal disease in the womb. So in cases like that you have to bort the child to save the mother's life. You should educate yourself about why abortions happen. You are right though. You can always give a baby up for adoption if you can't take care of it.

I can't imagine this situation. I grew up with both parents and middle class. Lucky! I realized as I got older and met children from "this background", why the world is so damaged. Families are important! If you have kids, please take care of them. The future is screwed if this doesn't change.
