The Center for Nuclear Receptors and Cell Signaling (CNRCS) at the University of Houston creates partnerships and research collaborations with commercial entities in the Texas Medical Center. It is the core of the UH Health initiative.

Renowned hormone researcher Dr. Jan-Åke Gustafsson is director of the CNRCS. Initially funded by the state's Emerging Technology Fund, CNRCS received $5.2 million in grants awarded by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) in 2011 to develop new methods for treating the most severe form of prostate cancer.
