The Word of Life Mural was a gift of Mr. and Mrs. Howard V. Phalin of Winnetka, Illinois. Installed during the spring of 1964, it was kept covered until the day of the Hesburgh library's formal dedication. Millard Sheets was the artist commisioned to create the mural.

  • looks more like a "3rd and long" Jesus to me

  • @ndgoldendome7 i'm jealous of your username. that is all.

  • All of us who are connected with Notre Dame will be eternally grateful for your grandfather's great work. All the best.

  • @yarnm57 Wow. Can I be as cool as you are?

  • Amazing.

  • That was really cool to see. Millard Sheets was my grandfather, but I've never seen this video clip before

  • It has been reported Jesus has turned down the offer to assume the football coaching position at Notre Dame. He cited the pressure was too much to endure from an unreasonable expectation level from the fans. Being chastised once was enough for one life.

  • Hypocrisy and blasphemy. Too bad this college is no longer Catholic. It could have been a beacon now it's in lockstep with humanism.

  • Amazing video! And great game last night!

  • great clips of Millard Sheets working studio.
