  • I have replaced the fuel pump on my big block chevy correctly and still not getting any fuel I have blew out the lines cleaned the gas tank out and still not getting gas it feels like the push rod is maybe sticking up and not falling?

  • @jpogue1973 That rod runs off the camshaft lobe and pushes on the pump plunger. Unless your cam is completely wore? (highly unlikely) It has to move. See comments from Diabloshell, his new pump didn't work, exchanged it for another one & it worked. "New" doesn't mean it works. I'd exchange pumps just to be sure. OR any small leak in the fuel line will not allow the pump to refill the lines. It will suck air. Check for any cracks, small holes, loose connections...anything where it can leak?

  • So I have 1979 chevy truck 3/4 ton, 2 wheel drive,305 egine,4 barrel carburator, and I am not getting fuel through my lines to my carburator my buddy replaced my fuel pump still no fuel going to my carburator

  • @freakshow0431 My best guess would be the fuel line from the tank to the pump has a hole and the pump is just sucking air.

  • I have an 84 GMC jimmy with a 350 engine and the the first hose to the left that connects to the fuel pump keeps breaking when i go offroading ( when i rev the engine alot) i've replaced it many times , how can i prevent it from breaking again ?

  • @MusicLibrary First thing...are you using hoses made for fuel? Maybe try going with a higher pressure hose (injection fuel hose) OR Is there any way that you could bend up a steel line and attach it with a short piece of hose and clamp the ends.

  • @MusicLibrary I will get back to you soon.

  • @cgrizzle3 Yes, heard of it and I would have done that if the block had a bolt hole there. Not every block has it.

  • Have you heard of putting a longer bolt through one of the holes on front of motor and it holds the rod? Then installing the fuel pump and replace that bolt with the right length bolt?

  • @Diabloshell Anytime, my friend! So the first new pump was no good? Good to hear that it's running!
