I don't care what goes down in the future, but whatever it is I'm siding with the left and getting far the fuck away from the repubs. Racist bible-thumping homophobes with ass-backwards (lack of) logic and the love for greedily hoarding money, that's their whole party in a hypocritical nutshell. Evolution left these people behind, so why doesn't the rest of the country? We might still be in the shit, but life has been a lot better under someone NOT republican, now hasn't it?

billy - Though Ron Paul is a big step up from the normal GOP, he make some good observations and ideas but he is still out to lunch on too many things.
Plus something I noticed when I get into it with one of his followers is that its not about policy but about fact vs. fiction. They parrot some of his and that crazy libertarian nonsense that may sound good if you dont know anything but is pure fantasy if ever implemented would sink the nation so bad the current crisis would look good.

Because 'choice' means that voters would have to actually think about issues in order to know how to vote, rather than just automatically vote against "the enemy".

Yes, World peace does seem so very far away -- especially when the rhetoric is hateful.
But your earlier observation about Ron Paul supporters discussing issues rather than going on a personal attack - is one step in the right direction. This mindset of respect for one's opponent is key.
We must honor and respect each other, every one.

True, greadbroad; as a whole, that is still much of the problem. I forget that sometimes. If I were King of America, I'd force everyone to live outside the U.S. in an Asian, African, or South American country for one year. Amazing what that does for perspective.
But then we'd live in a monarchy. With me in charge, it's be all crack houses and brothels and that ain't good either. Kidding.

Why does the GOP have narrow appeal?
There are so many issues with the GOP it's not funny.
1) The GOP have right-wing crazy host representing them like Rush and Beck.
2) They like to call out and insult the Democratic party solutions and have no solutions of their own.
3) The majority of the GOP consist of white, narrow minded old men.
And the list goes on....

The Grand Old Pricks have the same appeal as the angry old crazy guy down the block, who if you hit the baseball in his yard, kiss it good bye!
