World Class Hawk Champion Doyle Johnson shows his secrets to accurate Hawk (tomahawk) throwing for competition. The same principals apply to throwing a knife or axe. Doyle also gives the history of hawk throwing and safety. If you are interested in further study see wikipedia's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomahawk_(axe). or visit our site at http://www.twoeagleskitchen.com/ for our schedule or to actually meet Doyle and perhaps throw a hawk or two. (The term "Hawk" is correct for competition tomahawk throwing).
Hawk throwing is an ancient art first practiced by aboriginal peoples with stone axes for hunting, then adapted to metal. Living History Events, Fur Trade, Rendezvous and Mountain Man Festivals all feature some activity regarding this sport. Find an event and participate yourself by doing a search with these terms to find and event in your area. Bring history to life!
