Too woodworky requiring special tools.

This is great! I especially love seeing someone use it, thank you very much. ^_^ I can't wait to make this for my friend Rosemary (she does tons of knitting and sewing, and she too loves things like these) :D Thanks!

That is just so cool!!! It even winds much prettier than my Royal winder! I would have made one part a bit different though, the handle which you use to crank it. I would have made it round and around 4" tall - would be very ergonomic, similar to handles for a type of electronic hand break/speed in vans for the disabled. Very nice also for those who are inclined to getting tendonitis from repetetive motions (many have that problem).

how did you make the thing that you are rotating and the part where the yarn spins to?

that is just brilliant!

Nice job!
hi. I really love the winder and I want to make one myself , but I can't find the woodworking plans on your website. Can you please help me with the exact link or path to the plans?? thank you.

@sweetirinuka1 You can find the plans by going to my website (lisaboyer), clicking on the Woodworking Plans side on the left. On the designs page, It is the last single plan listed (three columns up from the bottom) entitled, "Yarn Lover's Package." The winder is sold with the swift and spindle in a plan package. The winder plans are not sold separately. Aloha, Lisa Boyer

Hi Lisa - It was such a pleasant surprise for me to see you on your video. Of course, the winder thingee is also pretty smart. Matches the inventor I guess

You are so sweet, Adrian! You make me blush, you know. And yes, the inventor is pretty special--but you know that, too. Congratulations on all your beautiful work; I love your original designs. Your videos are so well done and I love the songs you pick to accompany them. I especially LOVE when you narrate--that is some great accent you have!
