It is very cool that you mention that car.......my Dad has told me that story many times as a kid......I thought he was just pulling my leg ( i was very young and uninformed ) BUt the fACT you actualy got to drive one is SOOoooo cool :)

People are not used anymore to rely on themselves. Electric car is the best way without polluting. better than Hydrogen and bio-diesel. but did you hear about the Fuel wars? The people who provide fuel in Middel East Africa abnd S. America are gona have huge losses when we use electric..but perhaps they too should go on electric car. :).. I can always dream of this as Utopia...

we can take back the flow of control in small ways . take a bike when it's possible , walk when the store is one block down .

It's a neverending story, a neverending struggle. In the early 60s, Chrysler created a prototype car powered by a gas turbine engine. Google it. The thing would run on ANYTHING, including old crankcase oil or cooking grease. I got a chance to drive one of them, and it was incredible.

It was destroyed by the oil industry.

The technology to beat it all existed over 40 years ago, and it was crushed by the lust for money. It's still being crushed, and it makes me want to scream!

It fries me. The whole thing fries me. You know about the Tucker, right? And why that vehicle couldn't gain a foothold. It's a different thing, but the same basic causal factor. This is bigger certainly, and the implications are that they don't care as long as they're making money.

Maybe it's better that I'm poor. I'd rather die this way and unknown, than to leave a legacy of injuring this planet and the people in the name of the almighty dollar.

I imagine the electric car will only become stylish when there is no more oil to pimp. It's like there being a cure for cancer that is destroyed because there's no profit in wellness.
