  • What a pity the film captured you first - I absolutely HATE the film - it has a terrible script. Andrew Davies' script sticks closely to the book, whereas the script for the film is sloppy and Americanised and made simple for the mass market. I spent the whole film waiting for the most famous opening line in English literature, and where was it? Pemberely was certainly NOT as grand as Chatsworth. The research on the BBC series was meticulous, in the film, not.

  • @TheGlitzieGirl1 I love the BBC series too. I know it´s more faithful to the novel but what can I say ? This is like falling in love, you don´t choose it, you just feel it. Anyway thank you for your interesting comment.

  • Thanks for posting this. I was curious about this version because I have never watched it & some people were comparing this & the 2005 version. Seeing some of the scenes here I think I like the 2005 version better. The music & the characters there were more fascinating to listen & watch. Plus Matthew & Keira's chemistry as Mr. Darcy & Lizzie was just awesome. I like them very much so I am maybe biased. I have seen 2005 version a long time ago but it 's still my favorite romantic movie.

  • @camille4004 Thank you so much for your comment! I also saw the movie first and THAT will always be the one and only P&P for me.The BBC series is very good too, even more faithful to Jane Austen´s novel and the actors are amazing but I agree with you MM and KK match so perfectly, and the rest of the cast,locations,music.....bewitched me body and soul!

  • aww it was way too short! Thaks heaps for sharing it! I aboslutely melted at the proposal scene. And they are so right about the music, its perfect in here, they don't use it too much, but rather kind of helping the story along. Gotta agree that Pride and Prejudice is the best romance ever! To be honest, I never thought the actors physically fit in this one, but they basically the characters!

  • I´m a huge fan of English actors.I think they are so credible,no matter their physical aspect.

  • lol so collin firth never jumped into the lake? that's such a let down!

  • @camille4004 I saw the 2005 version first and I liked it a lot. Both versions are good, but I like most people love the 1995 version better because it is more faithful to the book, it more embodies the story in the way Jane Austen wrote it. But the 2005 version is good as well it just falls short a little when compared to the 1995, perhaps because it is so much shorter so there is less time to fully capture the book in all its glory.

  • Colin physically doesnot look like Darcy, but when he is playing Darcy,HE IS INCREDIBLY MR. DARCY! REALLY?PRAY TELL ME WHERE SUE SAW THE REAL DARCY! IN HER DREAMS OF COURSE.
