@40belowceo I saw the teaser, praised it, and wished the creators good luck. So, for you to come on here and spew venom about "not words from a social scientist" is both disrespectful and ignorant. The description says "pieces of footage ..." that would imply that other pieces exist that could have nothing to do with social scientists. In fact, my crew and I have interviewed several of the Wild Cowboys gangsters themselves including ones in the DR. Hating just makes people look pathetic.

Uptown is the historically relevant chronicle of Washington Heights during the rise of crack cocaine. Dominated by powerful stories and based on real life accounts, Uptown will answer the questions most asked about that time when Washington Heights was the Drug Capital of the World, and the people who made the headlines.
You wanted the real story...prepare for the truth.
YAYO, WILD COWBOYS, MAXIMO, LAZZARO, CABALLON, JEHRI CURLS

It's says in the description..."Pieces of footage...pertaining to the Wild Cowboys documentary." That would imply that other pieces - that might include interviews from the real life gangsters - exist. I've been in touch with and have spoken to many of them in and out of jail. Also, my crew and I have been to Washington Heights countless times to shoot video. In fact...we were there this past weekend shooting B-Roll in front of the building on 177th where Frankie Cuevas was killed.

The first rough cut of the trailer (preview) for the Wild Cowboys documentary - WANTED: THE WILD COWBOYS is on my page. Just type in "wild" "cowboys" "crack" 'Lorenzo" and "trailer" in the search box above and it should come up. Peace.

Dominicans created it? I could of swor the word was that a Jamaican cooked that shit up in like 81/82 in Jamaica (the island). Plus people were free basing cocaine in the 70's with ammonia/ether and shit like that.
Colombians had bazooka/bazooko.... since cocaine has been around.

Jackson Heights is the section of Queens bordered by Junction Blvd., Roosevelt Avenue, Astoria Blvd, and Broadway. The people that comprise its the population are Dominican, Colombians, Peruvians, and Mexicans. It used to be all Irish in the 60's and early seventies. I grew up in Jackson Heights.
