In the wake of the big sound clash featuring Jah Sufferer, Fatman and Sir Coxsone at Brixton Town Hall, Blacker Dread speaks "diplo" about the future of Sound System, Reggae Music, and Sir Coxsone Outternational sound.

It could be argued, that Blacker Dread is the selector that made Coxsone Sound the force it was in the late 70's, 80's and early 90's. No longer a selector on the famous UK set, there have been many calls from the community for his return.

  • Love de Half Pint plate at the end me boss.

Saying that, totally agree with Blacker....... dance nuh sweet agen!

  • "due to Coxsone selection, man..."

Yes, this dance had glimmers of the Sir Coxsone sound of old, where the opposition would get damaged by such plates and armshouse mic talk from Blacker, Festus and co.

Unfortunately, like you say, blacker is right. Some nice tune did run though.

  • he's got a good point there about pulling tracks up

when i dj i mostly play drum and bass, and a bit of oldskool reggae, and people ask for rewinds and i give them, but i do tend to play the track through.

  • Yes Blacker, yuh a speak de truth, Coxsone sound is legendary in a de business, soundman nowadays, dem a use CD & mash up the industry, splicing artists voice & cheating de people dem.

  • there is a time in life when you know you have to come off the stage, and give the paltform to someone else.....

  • bad dance

  • Bring back Blacka Dread

  • Blacka made a good point about sounds pulling up tunes after twenty seconds, it's sad.

What shocked me is that he played a major role in the establishment of Saxon Sound...he's a true legend.

  • dig da white slaphead @6.22-6.29
