We go on the road today with http://LivinLaVidaLowCarb.com blogger Jimmy Moore and his awesome wife Christine as they traveled to Durham, North Carolina on May 4, 2008 to meet up with some enthusiastic low-carbers there as well as pay a visit to see a world-renowned low-carb doctor helping obese and diabetic patients in this special episode in their popular "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb On YouTube" video series.
Jimmy and Christine saw about 18 low-carbers in the Triangle area who are members of the Triangle Low Carb Cooking Meetup group. Here's a blog post from Jimmy about how you can join:

It was a blast to meet and greet the people who read the blog, listen to the podcast show, and watch these YouTube videos in person. There are some truly amazing people in the low-carb community and what a pleasure it was to meet so many cheerful and healthy ones all in one place. Here's a blog recap of the event:

Dr. Eric Westman is a low-carb researcher/practitioner from Duke University in Durham, NC and he is using what he has learned about low-carb diets from his research studies and now applying it to patients at his Duke Lifestyle Medicine Clinic. You can contact his office at the following link:

Jimmy has featured Dr. Westman often at his blog since he is one of the most established experts about low-carb diets in the entire world. What a wealth of knowledge and information this man is and he has a true care and concern for each of his patients who come to him with problems that no other doctor is willing to do anything meaningful about. That along with his caring attitude is what sets him apart from the rest of the medical community.

THANKS Val! They haven't run her A1c number, but I'm sure she's just fine, too. :) Best wishes to your hubby...that's a scary triglyceride issue. :(

I've been busy studying an opera that I'll be in this summer. Still lovin' low-carb.
