Cool analogy..

Hey, when will you post the introduction to Inductors? I like your videos.

@00retrobrad00 This is a great learning aid. I highly recommend you normalise the outro volume as it's way too loud. In fact change it completely if you can, it reminds everyone of nut cases like HowTheWorldWorks.
Cheers.

I love your videos your the reason im doing so well in my analog devices class! Thank you thank you thank you

@00retrobrad00 So are BJTs better amplifiers than JFETs... and JFETs are better at controlling resistance for things like what yo mentioned, the microphone which converts electrical energy into sound. So the JFETs is what makes you hear a difference in sound if someone shouts or whispers down a mic?

@DavidLawton93 It all comes down to what you are trying to achieve. Both BJT's and FET's are great for amplifying however, depending on the application, one would be better suited than the other (impedance matching, frequency of operation, gain, cost etc...)

Loved your analogy and explanation to JFETS. Probably the best I have ever heard..Have a doubt though. Would I be able to control the Drain current if my Gate-Source voltage is positive (FB) since, this would push the holes from Gate into the channel and electrons flowing from Source to Drain would recombine with them?

@bvprulz JFET's should 'never' have the gate / source forward biased (having the gate more positive than the source) you can actually destroy the device. There is one instance where you would need to forward bias the gate source (but it is only for one small moment) and this is with a clamping circuit (used in oscillators) where we need to charge up a large capacitor (via source / gate current) connected to the gate. once charged, it basically stays charged and we then get no more gate current.
