I went through a mid-west university with MTM. Every Saturday night we all gathered in a dorm room around a tiny portable T.V. with a little pot and a little beer, (we couldn't afford much of either) and laughed together. Those kids were my family and we watched this other family each week who acted and spoke and screwed up just like we did and they did it with a good head and even better heart.

I'm now 58 but Mary, Lou, Rhoda, Ted, and all of them are still part of my family.

I remember watching this on Nick at Nite back in the early-90s, but the closing was the generic one used throughout the other 7 seasons. This was such a classy sendoff that I wished could've made it into the syndicated reruns.

There have been a few moments in my life like Mary's at 13:24 ff. I knew I was leaving a stage in my life behind -- often associated with a specific place. More than once in those times this very scene has come to mind. It's a great one.
