Not as funny as the Alita on Letterman clips, but almost. This is what happens when the power company (Long Island Power Authority/LIPA) can't do repairs when a tree downs a utility pole and contracts Keyspan Energy, now owned by National Grid, to do the repairs. Of course, with all their cutbacks, Keyspan is understaffed and can't do the job. To make it worse, they say they can't do anything yet because the pole that went down is owned by Verizon, who has to put it back up and then give Keyspan/National Grid permission to restring the line. Then they can all blame each other and enjoy the bureaucracy. The result; it takes forever to do the job as consumers get the run around and are actually without electric power and heat for over 22 hours. To make the situation more dangerous, the LIPA and Keyspan emergency repair phone numbers can not be dialed from cellular phones, making it impossible to reach them when phone service is down. With all these clowns managing our energy, the last thing Long Island needs Broadwater in addition to this. Who's going to fix that when something goes wrong?
Nice hair -- a blow dryer clearly dangerous in your hand...

Exactly the point! No power, no heat, no blow dryer!
