yea.its hard to accept that the "old"aic is gone, but moving on is part of life.
-
of course is not the same but come on is AIC for fucks sake and they're still kickin' asses
-
Layne was better but he's dead, AIC need to move on like any other band, Layne is irreplaceable but give it a chance a DuVall.
Alice in Chains is a great band and Layne was a great singer (the best) but they're still great.

No Layne, no AIC. Period. Not that I'm comparing the caliber of these two bands, but to me it's like The Beatles without John Lennon or Paul McCartney. It just doesn't work.

When Layne died we lost a great artist. Yes, Jerry wrote most of the music, but Laynes singing style and melodic sensibility geve the world some of, in my opinion, the greatest vocal moments in recorded history. I'll save my final Judgement on the new singer until the next record comes out. I'm not sure Alice in Chains will be the same without Staley.
Why is everyone hating on Duvall? Layne is dead dude...get over it. He sounds great. You must be hearing the drunks in the crowd singing along.

I can not agree here. Cantrell wrote or co-wrote most of the music and about half of the lyrics together with Layne..
Layne was great but there is nothing wrong with William DuVall.
Cantrell is creative power behind Alice in Chains.
