Hey!!!

This is another one of my favorite live perfomances of Tori!
I hope you enjoy her as I do everytime I see and hear her!
Here are the lyrics:
Muhammad my friend, it's time to tell the world
We both know it was a girl back in Bethlehem
And on that fateful day when she was crucified
She wore Shiseido Red and we drank tea by her side

Sweet, sweet, sweet
Used to be so sweet to me, well

Muhammad my friend, I'm getting very scared
Teach me how to love my brothers who don't know the law
And what about the deal on the flying trapeze?
Got a peanut butter hand, but honey
do drop in at the Dew Drop Inn

Sweet, sweet, sweet
Between the boys and the bees

Sweet, sweet, sweet
Between the boys and the bees

And Moses I know, I know you've seen fire
But you've never seen fire until you've seen Pele blow
And I've never seen light, but I sure have seen gold
And Gladys save a place for me on your grapevine
till I get my own, honey, TV show

Ashre, ashre, ashre, ashre

And if I lose my Cracker Jacks at the tidal wave
I got a place in the Pope's, honey, rubber robe
Muhammad my friend, it's time to tell the world
We both know it was a girl back in Bethlehem

  • I love how she provides her own percussion at the beginning x)

  • agreed! But I prefer to live in the past were Tori Amos is concerned, so I always think of her as she looked in the 90s...

  • @EviLSiLenZ eat a dick, loser.

  • after that I am a complete human.....

    love her!

  • It's just Genius !

  • Poor sound quality. Sounds like a modem in the background noise.

  • Did she know who is Muhammad?

  • @jarredbrewster Thanks. :)

  • @TheLuciferianAvatar It's just a jab at religions. Islam, for example, has many similar stories to Christianity but that vary on certain details. Islam was founded because they viewed Jesus (Isa) as a prophet rather than the son of God. The refrain in this song alludes to such disparities that create deep rifts between people. This song is playing with that idea by satirizing what she sees as a comical incoherence in the world's religion (hence, the increasingly incoherent lyrics).

  • Am i the only one who thought the lyrics to this song made no sense?
