  • I would like a "hand job" please

  • this is soo cool...

  • old comment from you but a year later....you provoked a lol

yeah, i could go for a hand job anytime. my "car" needs some attention to detail like no other.

    anyway..cheers!

  • "No, nothing can beat a hand job."

Yeah, that's true. I could always go for a handjob. Anyway, yeah, I guess you're right, just as long as the painter knows what he or she is doing.

  • No, nothing can beat a hand job. I'm not sure how much you know about car paint but with machine paint jobs or crappy hand jobs you get orange peel or dimples in the paint. By hand the paint is polished every step of the way and wet sanded so it is as smooth as can be, like a mirror. Given, a proper hand paint job is very labor intensive and takes too much time for any mass produced vehicle to have applied. Only custom one off vehicles get that attention to detail

  • It actually is better than by hand, because with robots you get a consistent even coat every time. With a person, it varies. However, I watched a show on the ferrari factory and it takes them about 2 months to build the entire car from building the engine out of molten metal to test driving the finished car. They also hand craft every component, and that is why they cost twice as much as a vette.

  • MUCH more durable than a hand finish though.

  • An intricate process indeed, but the finished product still can't hold a candle to a cut and polish done by hand.
