Another day on 145.325 and it was far from a normal day, mind you, it's never a normal day on 145.325. This is my new (classic) VHF transceiver the FDK Multi-750x FM/USB/LSB/CW in excellent condition, this video doesn't do it justice.

  • Nice to see an FDK 750...I have the FDK Multi-750e which I think may have been an earlier version. I bought it second hand quite a number of years ago and it looks a bit more worn than yours! I also have the Expander 430 for it which gives it 70cm capability as well. I came across this video while watching a Gary Numan one you posted! Looking at one of your other videos, I see you have a 767GX. I have a 757GX which someone very kindly gave me. I live in Guildford by the way.

  • Hi Paul, thanks for the comment. Yes the FDK Multi-750X is a really nice rig. And yes, I have the 767GX. The 757GX is also a great radio. I love using the older radio equipment. And you are not that far from me, hope to speak to you on air one day Paul.

  • Hi Dave, Hahahaha, tell me about it. Being mad as a bag of Frogs is a requirement to be a Ham in Orpington Hi, 73 Pete

  • hi pete. that's a good copy. i can't get nothing on the opington 2 m repeater( 145.710 ) unless it has gone down , i have a maycom ar-108 scanner. lost the instructions book long ago. i may not have it in the right mode now. if so, got no idea how to alter it now, or how to alter the steps.

  • Hi Micky, Yes, my new toy. The GB7Ok repeater is D-Star (Digital Smart Technologies for Amateur Radio) So you won't hear anything on a normal FM Rx. I don't use repeaters, only FM simplex and SSB on 2m. You'll have to get a cheap vhf/uhf scanner, you can listen to the lads on 2m then.

  • Nice sounding radio!, any chance of a video of it on SSB?

  • Here in the United States there are many 2-meter simplex channels people use for impromptu communications like this. In fact, I'm on a certain frequency every evening where several of us hang out together but are quite informal.

Regardless of where you are there are always informal chats going on :)
