You spoke about a christian claiming that the wrong version of the buybul was used. I LOATHE it when they do that. I was in a debate recently where I shot down all of the arguments with buybul quotes from the KJV and instead of responding to me, the jackass just cliamed that I was using the wrong version of the buybul.

Whats so amazing is the burden of proof is on you. Not us. you give a website that is so obviously lying, you don't bother cross referencing it yourself before you promote it, then you say its up to us to show everyone of those on the web site wrong. Why don't you stop being lazy and give me that one contradiction you talked about in this video. The burden of proof is on you. not us.

LOL, I think I pissed myself on that one.

Actually creationists like to take Darwin's quotes out of context. They say that in "The Origin of Species" he wrote that it seems inconcievable that the eye could evolve. They forget to mention that the key word is "seems," and he then goes on to explain how the eye evolved. That's an example of context that doesn't "imply excuse."

That's a good point. Both Christians and non-Christians have been guilty of taking quotes out of context on YouTube, and both groups are guilty of crying "OUT OF CONTEXT!" without explaining the full context.

I have found that Christians scream that something is out of context when they can't answer. Sometimes they say that we don't understand the spiritual interpretation of the verse since we don't have the ability to grasp it. I like how Dennis McKinsey states that the bible says what it means and it means what it says. He presents this to them and they will still go on and on. They are hard heads.

Anything that needs "context" to be okay probably isn't. Context implies excuse.

There are some passages in the Bible, such as the genocide and incest in the Old Testament, that cannot be placed in any context that would make them good.
I think that when apologists say "out of context", they are really saying "you're not using the highly subjective interpretation that I use to justify the scripture in my own mind."

My reply often to the Old Testament nasties is "Genocide is NEVER out of context!"
