@TheMathGuy great....sounds like a foreshadowing to my own

@joystixxify that´s a great way to say it. thanks :D

@Lilithly i think the word you're looking for is 'awkward' :D he doesnt know how to behave in social situations, he tends to think of himself above most other people (thats where the pride kicks in) and he doesnt know how to act polite and fake interest when he's just not interested lol (unlike bingley). but i agree with you. hes a pretty great guy when you look past all that. hes got a good heart :)

@zinazina11 umm they arent happy without each other. mr. darcy asks lizzy to "end his agony", remember?
-
@zinazina11 jane austen did actually put them together because they complete each other. darcy can learn something from lizzy and the other way round. she actually writes that in the novel ^^ but i still disagree with TheMathGuy. For me, darcy is the perfect guy^^ he´s honest and kind of shy (not really but i can´t find the right word for it^^)

I'm a girl who, for years, avoided Pride and Prejudice like the plague because I thought it was just a stupid, "girly", romance novel.
But I finally got around to reading it recently and realized that Pride and Prejudice is actually a great book that has been hideously misrepresented by Hollywood in order to market it to a wider female audience (kind of like Jane Eyre). The Keira Knightly version retains virtually none of Austin's wit and humor and intelligence!
Not really. Mr. Darcy is far from "the perfect man". He's unsociable, stubborn, and opinionated. It is only by falling in love with Lizzy that he finally starts to improve (hmm--not that unlike real life, now is it?) It's the very fact that everything goes so terribly wrong and they argue and fight and almost don't get together that makes it an endearing story.

My boyfriend could barely sit through the Keira Knightley version without trying to put a bullet in his head.
