  • very true, excellent points.

  • On the point you make about not hearing about "capitalist terrorists" and "capitalist rebels" is very true. In the corporate media, FARC in Colombia are always painted as some fringe extremist group ready to slit the throat of any man, woman and child. It's all because they're Marxists rebelling against a capitalist government. If it was Americans rebelling against a Marxist leader, it would be praised and a display of "patriotism."

  • Well said. You've highlighted the subtlety of bourgeois-capitalist propaganda. Most folks, while watching sit-coms, punctuated with ads, don't realize they're being indoctrinated.

  • Yup, little story. I was at a public place watching a video interview of Noam Chomsky few weeks ago. Some random guy saw what I was watching and began ranting. "That man is the reason this country is going to shit" blah blah blah. He also said that Noam was a Maxis, I was like NO he is not, Then spent about an hour trying to explain why he was not. It was like trying to break a brick wall with my fist. Then I lost my temper and I got kick out of the place for coursing. :(

Friend,Communism was based on the 'labor theory of value' of the classical economists, including the laissez-fair pioneering physiocrats, and advocated the abolition of currency & markets altogether, waaaaay before your zeitgeist movement.lol

  • This video definitely sums up the whole notion of a double standard.

  • @bigpapi255

Mussolini also said "Fascism is the complete opposite of Marxian Socialism".

  • I prefer Hahnel & Albert's term, coordinatorist economy, instead of state capitalism for the Soviet Union. Marxists-leninists can get away with pretending the system was not class-based - with a proffessional-managerial or coordinator class instead of a capitalist class - by using state-capitalist. otherwise, another interesting valuable piece. particularly that India stat. btw see davis's "late victorian holocausts" for about approx 30 million dead due to free-market imposed series of "famines"

  • Suharto's philosophy was called Pancasila. It was religionist and (in theory) supports welfare statism. It seems to be part of the trend of nationalist governments arising out of the context of being colonized by western imperial powers.
