A funny dialogue among three Nigerian parents in New York. Two of them insist that Nigerians abroad should marry Nigerians. One of them says it's not a must!

  • I am an English lady married to a Nigerian and I have embraced my husbands culture very much so. I can kneel down to my husbands parents and say 'Ekaaro Sir, Ekaaro Ma'. I am agreeing with what Francis James says. I know how to show respect to anyone regardless of where I'm from or where they are from. And most importantly me and my husband love each other very much and we are very happy together with our little girl :-)

  • i like what Francis it doesn't matter who you marry find somebody that you love and respect your whole life forever. My parents don't want me to marry a nigerian woman because they are loud and they want money and marriage please. My parents want me to marry a non nigerian woman such as a white woman who will love and respect me. I want to have beautiful mixed race kids with a beautiful white woman and be happily married forever

  • That Francis man...love his openness and grasp on the matter!

  • LOL, I am Liberian and this is not only Nigerian parents saying this. Almost all West African parents feel the same, mainly because of culture. My mom says, "she is praying to GOD & begging me not to marry an American or African American. However, my older bro has a Haitian GF & my mom loves her because she's respectful. So, in all I think/know what is meant to be will be. Only GOD knows.

  • LOL, she said there's 'Nigerian LOVE too'

  • Nigerian girls especially youruba girls.. All they wanna talk about is marriage. All i wanna talk about is Sex.. lets fuck and be kool. till then.. i will be fuckin' that shit out of latino bitches.. I don't give a fuck.. it's my life. NAIJA STAND UP!! KILLA CALI.. STAND UP!

  • loooool.. the 3rd parent is funny...

  • And why is someone BLOWING serious Yoruba.

  • I would also add that we should 1st work on getting along with ourselves first.

  • Nope, Nigerians marry whomever they choose to (as long as there is love and God) . Even us Nigerians have issues marrying each other (Yoruba, Ibo, and Hausa etc)....Please someone tell me what advancement has culture, tradition and tribalism given us in Nigeria except headaches, hate for one another, and unnecessary fights against each other...It's time for us younger generations to let these our parents understand. why are they all Yoruba?.....I rest my case.

  • I LOVE my culture but that will not stop me from marrying whomever I damn well please; for me to fall in love with you enough to actually want to marry you, there'll be respect between us. if you respect me then obviously you respect my culture because like it or not I am an embodiment of the culture and environment that made. Once that respect is there (in both directions) then as my people would say make we dey carry dey go!
