I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan. Most of all I love movies/tv shows about space and Space: 1999 was great, interesting and entertaining series

This is definitely one of my favorite 'space' tv shows (next to Farscape, Babylon 5, Lexx, Earth: Final Conflict, Earth 2, Total Recall 2070, Space: Above and Beyond, Andromeda, Firefly, Lost in Space, Doctor Who, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Space Rangers and Starhunter)

Like every sci-fi show & film, they were limited by what was available to them in real life at the time. While it was quality writing and acting, and the special effects were all right considering the budget, all those 1970s TV screens now make it look as dated as original Star Trek -- made all the more poignant by the fact that we now know what WAS available in 1999. It's like having the shoe-phone in the Get Smart remake.

A Remake of this Show at the Movies would have to be Over the Top. the crew of the new Moonbase Alpha should be more like 900 people. The Base itself should be at Least Doubled in Size. A few Smaller bases on the Moon would have to Exist that were supposed to be enlarged before the Accident Happened that Blasted the Moon out of Earth's Orbit.

There would have to be a local underground Set of Caverns that would holds Thousands of People : Dodge City II.

All New Different Types of Spaceships...

My favourite series from back in the 70's...beside Six Million Dollar Man. I liked this better than Star Trek. Watching this on colour tv was an experience I never forget...do you remember those playing cards based on this series? They came along a pack of chewing gum you bought. .
