Rare video of Elvis and the Attractions. High quality sound. From 1978's "Armed Forces".

EC and the boys doing their famous version of Nick Lowe's "(What's so funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding."

Notice that in some shots keyboardist Steve Nieve is 'playing' guitar. Guess they couldn't be bothered to bring a keyboard out to the jungle. Or a drum kit for that matter.

Anybody have a clue about where this was filmed? Looks like maybe Alaska: tall trees, totem poles, forest, seashore.

  • It's only one of the best godamn pop records ever made. Nick Lowe's own version with Brinsley Schwarz is might fine too. But Lowe was poking fun at hippies, while Costello --of all people!-- became one, for 3 minutes and 33 seconds.

  • Up the Ra!

  • some songs fade with the passing of ages. others continue to shine like rare lights in the everwhelming tide. this song is the second type of song.... but wouldn't be nice to live in a world where people would listen to this song and wonder why you'd have to sing a song like this.

  • cutest dork in the world <3

  • Remember hearing Elvis sing this song live back in the late seventies. It wasn't on the English release of 'armed forces'. so when I visited usa a few years later i bought the american edition.

  • THE ATTRACTIONS knock it out of the park. EC and the A's '78-'83 - best band since the Beatles.

  • Really a great song and recording. Love Elvis.

  • Thanks for this fantastic tune, Nick Lowe!

  • I guess the Angels didn't steal his Red Shoes (0:20)
