  • Alinco confirmed it was the radio not anything I was doing. Something went wrong with the firmware on the radio. They were not able to fix is and issued me a replacement radio.

  • Try the heatsinks to any components that should have them - many devices knock themselves out if a heatsink isn't properly attached, and consequencially overheats very quickly. Try running a computer without yours fans. Not nice.

    Hope it helps.

  • It didn't stay on long enough to get hot. I called Alinco and they told me it was the unit and it had something to do with the firmware on the unit. Something became corrupted, they ended up just replacing the unit. The new one works like a charm.....

  • Should have bought a decent make radio like Icom!

  • @ebm1024 I am glad they replaced it for you. It looked like a nice radio if it would stay running. 73s

  • @564955charlie Ive had 0 problems with any Alinco I have owned that I haven't asked for. I've had a Dr 635 with no problems and a DR 590 and the only problems I have had with it is the coax jumpers on the back are falling apart. I have abused the hell out of it and guess what it still works. No display light and no CMOS battery and I can still work repeaters all the way down in South Florida on 2 meters (with tropo) and be 59 from EM50. You get a bad one now and then but not all Alincos are bad.

  • Maybe its because you are using an alinco?

  • Toast

  • got to be a joke, now does anybody see a coax on this radio? i replayed it 4 times and slowed it down stopped it and i still cannot see a coax maybe its just hid but the coax should be comming out of the left rear of the radio, and there isnt one i can see,yep no antenna will shut it down in a second

  • is there a antenna hooked up!!! comon!!

i see no coax plugged into the radio where is the antenna?????
