This is amazing!

Rich Perry's style has changed alot since this. He sounds much more like Joe Henderson here.

RIch was into Hank Mobley, Joe, and Wayne during the late 70's when I knew him... , but now has developed an incredibly dynamic synthesis of the entire tenor realm, with humor, lyricism and swing Check out his solo CD's and his work with Fred Hersch.

@front11gutter you are 100% right, I was talking to him about this the other day, and he spent a number of years studying Henderson until he Joe himself told him he was "a great imitator", which moved him to develop his own sound.

sounds to me like someones parents only bought him joe henderson records. great vid, great solo- this made me like R perry and joe henderson so much more. --- you could copy and paste some of those patterns
