I've listened to all three versions.--Pavarotti, Placido and finally Lanza. Each man's phrasing is somewhat different. I must say I love the differences how each man's voice carries it own personal treatment of this classic, and yet there are little nuances such as how each one treats the song, it's like having three lovers.

@elic2real You're asking me about preference; my opinion. I've already expressed it. It's why I said "Bravo! 5*" I obviously don't think they're too much. But given your need to tell me your a vocalist and question my opinion, I'd guess you think they're too much. Am I right?
Either way, Mario Lanza is a legend, irrespective of both our opinions.
