I wonder when these people notice that their body is also a carbon dioxide source, this is NOT even remotely carbon free way of generating electricity.
You'll find that the poor soul pedaling will produce huge amount of pollution. By the food manufacture (they have to eat). I'm not even mentioning the pollution created by manufacture of the equipment including the extra shoes and clothes that have to be washed, etc etc...take it from there :-)
not necessarily ... you'd have a voltage swiyching adapter...or and autosensing adapter with feedback loop...so when first plugged in it would never be able to overpower or select the wrong voltage.
However, let the guy off...this is a prototype after all.
This was posted long ago. It was re-posted because it got so many negative responses! Old Robert has his head up his ass- like always. I can't believe that Specialized keeps this dip-shit on the payroll. Must have a picture of the boss fucking a sheep!
I applaude you efforts! some of the critizing is correct, but some of it was from bone heads. Perhaps this design is best applied to a gym/club product design. Good luck.
How can she type? You should have made it like a recumbent bike where you could sit reclined, that way you could sit at the desk with the pedal generator assembly tucked away below the desk. Fact is you could do away with the bike and just use a pedal powered generator.

hmmm... I worry that the energy saved for the computer will be overshadowed by the energy required to run the air con!
