Курбан-Байрам(Kurban Bayram)

Is a Muslim Holiday that celebrates when the Archangel Gabriel came to the prophet Abraham. He brought a sheep ( lamb ), as a replacement for Ibrahim instead of sacrifice his son. It starts with a long fast and ends with a day of prayer then the sacrifice of sheep. The sheep must be killed by a Muslim or Jewish Male. In recent times it is causing debate with animal groups over the killing of sheep in the streets of Russia.Their is now a push and debate over how to solve this and now the maybe special butchers centers created in areas to bring the sheep for killing. I don't know. There are very few locally, and it could be happening in the major cities, but I have never heard of it. Do that many muslims live in Moscow? 2 million?

@NarodnieMstiteli A conservative guess is two to three million Muslims in Moscow, the most of any city in Europe.Most are illegal immigrants from Afghanistan,Iraq and Central Asia. Others are from the Caucasus. They seek asylum but that is hardly given even to Russians from the post soviet republics. They mostly take jobs in construction and women take jobs working in markets such as cooking stalls.

@NarodnieMstiteli That man in the last photograph is the head Mufi of Russia he sits on the religious council with the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox church, Spiritual head of Buddhism, and Rabi. They mostly tackle things like terrorism, fanaticism, spiritual health and how to improve Russia.

@NarodnieMstiteli It is actual Moscow, their is cossack troops and police militia due to threat of Suicide bombing from the Wahhabist Muslims. Those Arab Muslims and those who follower their Wahhabism do not like moderate Muslims and tend try to kill those who are against Jihad or strict Sharia law. They are also their too because more then two million are on the streets outside the mosques for the holiday. Does the American immigrates celebrate this holiday and do they kill sheep in the street?

yes we do celebrate but not slaughter them in the streets. Usually in the city you talk to someone and get ur cow/sheep and than you go there and slaughter in a building etc...as for the country side u can just do it in ur backyard
