"Homing soulmass does all the work for him" What's with all the bitching? Aren't you using Fog Ring, which before the patch was ultimate weapon against mages, practically rendering 90% of their magic useless... Soulmass fairly easy to dodge, plus you lose it quite easily. Besides, it's hard to hit good player with the spells, if anything, the definitely nerfed mages in Dark Souls.

@TheXXL4DmAsTeRsXx Dark Wood Grain Ring - Join the Forest Covenant, then go to Blighttown near the bottom bonfire. You should find the 2 Forest Covenant fellows *The Ninja is hiding in the back*. Kill the Ninja for the ring.
