READ before even thinking of complaining.

This is my first Game Maker game. I wanted to learn a bit more about the Game Maker program since I'll have to work for it for school next year, so I decided to make a game myself. I know about the awfulness of the video, with the dreadful framerate and all, but all I can say is that I'm happy my ultra-slow PC was even able to record me while playing the game.

I think I have at least been able to produce a decent game, keeping in mind that this is my first one ever. Also I think the music is awesome(not mine).

Great Maze music: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/133913
Boss fight music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HAzqdqPxtQ

Oh yes and I've added some references to *real* games as well, as you may have noticed. I will list them for you here.

- Enemies : Mega Man
-1st background music: The Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker
- Message when receiving bow/arrow: The Legend of Zelda(original)
- Karting Luigi: Mario Kart
- 2nd background music: Halo 2
- Triumph music: Metroid
- Triumph message: Super Mario Bros
- Glowing circles after Triforce disappears: Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
- Thank you sound: Super Mario Galaxy

  • Great looking game!

I'm trying to make weapons like yours. Sword and shield and bow and arrow. Do you think you could do a tutorial or give a link to where you learned it? It would help a lot!

  • @OnePathToFollow Hey, thanks for the compliment. You know, it's been ages since I made this game, so I don't recall every detail. However, almost all the sprites I used were prefab. These are mostly from A Link to the Past. Just google 'a link to the past sprites' and you'll find the ones I used. But if you want to put a bow on your self-made character, you'll have to find a bow sprite (again, just google) and just put it next to your character(if you see it from the side). I would use Photoshop

  • why u kill megaman?

  • @benny21003 Cuz I wanted to put as many references to other games in my game, and mega man was an easy sprite.

see all
