This is a re-imagining of "The Exorcist" if Friedkin didn´t reject Lalo Schiffrin´s score, which was later re-used part of it in the 1979 horror flick "The Amityville Horror".
In this scene, where Chris walks throguh Georgetown in the autumn, I replaced Tubullar Bells with the Amityville Horror theme, and it fits very well. Hope you like it.

  • The Amityville Horror theme is absolutely terrifying, much more so than the actual movie. Everytime I hear it it literally gives me chills. Isn't this actually the Amityville Possession theme though?

  • Yep, it is.

  • The rejected score did NOT include the main theme from Amityville... however, this was a very interesting clip!

  • I didn´t know that, but thanks for the nice comment.

  • This is my first exorcist video, i´m only 12, so it might be a little bad, but, I hope you like it.

  • I can see why friedkin rejected it.... Tubular Bells kinda blended more into this scene. And besides friedkin i think maybe wanted more real life then it's just a horror movie because lets face it The Exorcist is definitely more than just a horror movie.... Maybe it was just meant to be for The Amityville.. Can you imagine The Amityville Horror with a different Theme? I know for one it scared the shit outta me when i was a kid... But i gotta say it was a nice idea the video... So kudos.... =]

  • @sherbetbizarre Thanks for sharing that.... I did'nt know that..... Gosh you learn something new everyday.... Thanks.... =]

  • @AAlexM Yeah i agree with you too.... I can see why he chose the music he did for that scene..... Maybe he did'nt want it to be a cliche horror movie.... So i can see why he made that decision..... =]

  • Nice job. I think the Schiffrin music would have been far more effective than the music that was used. It's sounds much more eerie and evil.

  • For me, this particular scene without Tubular Bells wouldn´t have the same psychological impact.

  • great job! the exorcist is my favourite movie :D

  • It is just so boring

  • Great job. I think the film, "The Exoricst", may have been a better film with Schiffrin's score. Friedkin was a pure dick to Schiffrin about it though (throwing the tape across the street). I'm thinking Friedkin was going for a documentary feel. I understand, but this is a film.

Maybe you, or someone else, can score the whole film with his composition.
