the main reason there is "privatization" in Iraq is because we simply dont have the military force size in the cold war era. to fill many support roles, contractors are used extensively.

He is exactly right, I served in Iraq and saw firsthand what bullshit the war really was, and the non military families back here don't care at all about the war, they'd rather watch American Idol or Britney Spears, their "support" goes as far as buying a $2.99 "Support the Troops" magnet, and that is it.
