Dickens is still learning that people are fun to be around! I had only had him about two weeks when this video was made. He loves sitting on my hand to eat a bit of seed and is quite curious, he wants to explore everywhere! Dickens is still sometimes not sure about being petted, but he is getting much better. Please visit my site for more information about mouse training and taming.

Hi, Thanks for the comment.
Currently for training I am using a pet bird seed mix (a cockatiel mix) that is about 90% millet. Someone on a mouse group online suggested this to me.
The mice REALLY like millet, so it works well. Also, the millet seeds are very small, which is good because the mouse has to keep coming back for more. With big seeds, some mice will just go running off and hide while eating the seed.

Thanks for the comment! I think he's quite handsome too. :)
I'll be posting more videos of my mice over the next few weeks, so be sure to check back. I'll continue to work with them on socialization and then begin to clicker train them--I have all sorts of ideas for tricks. :)
cheers,
Mary
