A Chris Eccleston tribute set to the music "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

The entire piece of music is about 15 minutes long; obviously I had to abridge it for this video. I used clips from The Second Coming, Jude, I am Dina, The Others, the Proof music video, and The Seeker.

The Tallis Fantasia, along with other pieces by Vaughan Williams, is considered by many listeners to be a very spiritually-fulfilling piece . Chris has said in an interview that he is a spiritual person, in particular towards art... therefore I thought this would be very fitting music which he would appreciate.

  • On one hand, this is completely wonderful and very moving. Beautiful clips and very good editing, perfect music. On the other hand, the light in 2:58 - 3:08 makes it look as if his right earlobe flutters wildly in the breeze, and it makes me giggle SO badly. That much juxtaposition of silliness and serious dramatic moments was probably not intentional, but it suits him very well.

Gorgeous tribute to one of my fav actors.

  • @szara Thank you! My mom (also a Chris fan) also noticed that part with his ears flapping and was laughing about it :D I think she said something like "he looks like he's going to fly away those ear lobes are flapping so hard". I'm glad you enjoyed it all around!

  • Oh this is absolutely beautiful! I really love the use of The Second Coming in this. Music fits so well :)

Gorgeous video and a lovely idea :)

  • Thank you so much :)
