Here's a line: "I sent a postcard like I said I would " is that sarcastic? poking fun at the smugness of someone who revels in the good feeling that comes when you do something good so that they become addicted to that feeling and are driven to great lengths to create it all the time...you mean like that?

This brief, witty, sarcastic piece can come only after decades of soaking up life as a working musician who wraps folk, country, Tex/Mex, and ancient Ireland into a spectrum of American music representing, say from 1920s Jazz and Mexican folk all the way up to maybe the 1970's. I don't know but check out the reach in his five albums for a real nice slice of American music.

Uhm... Am I the only one who thinks this video is really creepy? The man is super old and creepy! The music is ok, but the voice is not good at all. Sounds like an old rocker who lost his voice!
