I had to get a translator to translate it for me. :) I see it as poking fun of Tagalogs trying to impose their language, not so much being offensive to Bisaya. Although if my grandmother were alive, I dunno how she'd feel about that. But then again, a lot of her people left their town of Argao in the 50s like other Cebuanos & moved into Mindanao & imposed their language too.

Yeah, I think people aren't getting the point.

@keizie2ne1: Well, kung tinuruan kami ng ibang wika, kagaya ng Kapangpangan, that's actually fine with us... We usually live in a multilingual environment (like in Mindanao, where I live)... Hindi namin tinataas ang kilay namin kapag may natutunang ibang wika ang mga family members namin nor we compel everyone in our place to speak Bisaya (in this case, Cebuano)... Pambihira kasi kayo, dalawang wika lang usually ang nalalaman ninyo (Tagalog, English) kaya't hindi nino kami ma-relate

@keizie2ne1: Hindi ka kasi Bisaya (in particular, Cebuano)... If you are a Visayan, pangit talagang pakinggan ang clip...

*In effect, the Tagalog-speaking population is and will always be the most linguistically ignorant amongst us Filipinos since they only know primarily two languages, one is Tagalog/Filipino/Pilipino and the other one is English
(a typographical error from my previous post).

Well, I think for a typical Tagalog, it is ugly to hear the sentences "Anhi dinhi" and "Kadyot lang sa". Simply because they don't know the meaning and hence they are ignorants! (on a linguistic perspective, of course). And finally, they suffer from the fire they had created! Since they are the ones who did not substancially incorporate other languages into our National Language (the Filipino Language is PREDOMINANTLY Tagalog), they have become ignorants in the long run!

The Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (or should I say, Komisyon ng Wikang Tagalog) is too lazy to incorporate words from Philippine Languages other than Tagalog. In effect, the Tagalog-speaking population is will be the most linguistically ignorant amongst us Filipinos since they only know primarily two languages, one is Tagalog/Filipino/Pilipino and the other one is English. Do you think that "Anhi dinhi" and "Kadyot lang sa" would sound ugly if you know the meaning of these sentences?

These discriminating Tagalog people overlook the cultural and literary richness of other languages. They do not simply know the meaning of their utterings. They simply conclude that what they hear is of "poor taste" simply because they do not understand it and it sounds different. Maybe Cebuano and other languages are not so developed in terms of literature compared to Tagalog simply because the Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino does not perform well its job to enrich the National Language.

Regarding the constitutionality of our National Language, you could ask our very own Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago (an Ilongga Visayan). Now, why am I talking about the National Language? Many people might have not noticed this but, I have to point out that since the National Language lacks substantial amount of words from other indigenous languages in the Philippines, this would cause ignorance to the part of the Tagalogs on the richness of these indigenous languages.

I mean, few words are only incorporated from Cebuano, Ilocano, Bicolano, Hiligaynon, etc. in our National Language. In this regard, Tagalog-speaking people regard their language as "superior" from the rest. Making things worse, they think that Tagalog, Pilipino, and Filipino are interchangeable. In my opinion, the present National Language is unconstitutional, since it doesn't mirror the true Filipino socio-linguistic identity, rather it just gives an impression of false superiority of one race.
Separation from an oppressive country is a God-given right. But before we get to that, we should ask all 22 million Cebuanos in Visayas and Mindanao if they are willing to allow Tagalog supremacists to insult us over and over again. If we are unwilling to be second-class citizens even in our own provinces, then how far are we ready to go?

The movie came out 3 yrs ago but ABS-CBN is just as anti-Cebuano, anti-Visayan as ever. They were behind the most recent outburst of Gloria Diaz against our people. Tagalog movies must never be shown in our provinces. Tagalog showbiz is making our kids lose their intelligence.

Discrimination against Visayans is very common in media, schools and the workplace.
