Minor correction with respect to the video series - I saw that since the previous video was so helpful and that this video didn't cover everything I wanted to cover in terms of exploring aspects of planning and writing your work within the program, I decided to extend the "Writing/Planning" videos to the end of the "Getting Started" series (eight videos in total). From that point on, I'll get into the specifics of using each tool individually within LSBXE.

This video covers the basics of planning/working between different modes of the program, using dossier and journal modes as examples. Note that you don't have to start your planning this way - it's really up to you how you organize your work in the program, but I thought this was a good way to get started, and it may give people some ideas. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me or comment on the video below.

Some notes: Image used in the dossier is credited to istockphoto.com, while the wallpaper featured in the video is credited to its respective artist at deviantart.com. Most (if not all) of the images used in these videos are from Deviantart or istockphoto, so that I can cover my bases on where they're coming from. I will include full credits in the last installation of this particular series section.

  • @LOLig135 Hi :) If you want to open a document you're working on using the external program. You can actually open it in one of a few ways. Easiest way I've found is by opening the document in LSBXE, then going to the File Menu in the mode you're working in and choosing External View or External Edit, depending on what you want to do. LSBXE will give you the message that External editing is on, and subsequent instructions on what you should do to save/edit your work accordingly.

  • hello^^ i have a question about the external dokument editor option (version 4.93), i don´t get that really :( ... i like to write with "write monkey" so i seach for the .exe choose it,and ...nothing happends. what am i supposed to do, to get this working? thx u for helping^^

  • @Kendrahf Have you seen my video on Jump Words? You can look for it in my uploaded videos since it was recorded some time ago. That might be in the measure of what you're looking for, since you can link to certain files simply by using that feature of the program. If you have already seen that video and want a specific example that you have in mind, let me know, I'll try to clarify as much as I can. Might even be easier to show you in a raw video, depending on what you want to do.

  • I have another question. I'm still a very new user. I appricate the help. =) Anyway, is it possible to link words with other files in this program? What I mean is if I'm working on an outline (in that mode) and I have a Character A. Is it possible to have the program link to Character A automatically to, say, a note file or where ever I use as the character info sheet? Thanks!

  • @Kendrahf I've owned the program for a while and loved it so much that I wanted to make these videos. I did get the early, early version of the program for free because it was for a trial giveaway when the program was just starting out, but later I had to upgrade because that key expired for that particular trial.

  • Awesome! Thanks! You get the Liquid Story Binder for free for making these smexy videos, right? XD
