It is possible that it is Derby because with folk songs travelling back and forth and the way the Irish back then pronounced it sounded like Darby maybe!!

my uncle Cyril Brien who grew up in Trepassey used to sing this song and was one of the songs that was added to the Mcleach collection.Figgy Duff also recorded this song in the early seventies.Nice to see the fables keep the song alive.great job!!
