Iodized pickguard? That's for table salt...the correct term is "anodized" and it's a finger rest since you rest your fingers on it to play with your thumb. Nice bass however...

Will FrettedAmericana be demoing any more basses? Because you've only done a handful basses and I would love to see some new videos of Daniel playing a 51 precision or 71 tele bass or something. Because unlike the guitarists, us bassists can't watch someone play great basses (that we'll never be able to afford) and that just isn't fair! :P
To help highlight this inequality, thumbs up! :P

Did the dude from Ray Charles' band play "Wrathchild" on it? "Cause that would've been cool :)

@432ps1 >It's the aluminum 1 ply gold colored pickgaurd not used much after 57,it aids with noise cancelling by acting as a ground.
They come on a few re-issue's especially ones from the custom shop, not 100% sure on their time-line but its close. It comes with holes drilled for a thumb-rest(bottom)and also for the bridge-cover,It only has 9 body mounting holes which does'nt fit many NON-Fender basses or budget Fender imports but can be modified to fit some un-intended model basses too.

I fking LOVE your amp, could you give us some information about the amp like phil x always does?
-
@leachim6 Phil x is playing the guitar...not the bass!I love Phil too,but this guy is also pretty cool! :)
-
No Phil X ? :(
I'm sure this guy's awesome, but he's not phil!

@kingkeith666 they're round-wound...but you can put either on the bass...the change-over came in the mid-60's and since then, both flat-wound and round-wound have been available :)
