Comments on OUR WINTER LOVE by Tommy Tedesco (from "Confessions of a Guitar Player"):
"Years ago I got a call to do an album with Felix Slatkin, a Los Angeles-based violin virtuoso. The date was scheduled for a Saturday. On Friday afternoon he suffered a sudden heart attack and passed away. We received notice on Friday that the date was coming off as scheduled. We all met in the studio the following morning and had a big meeting with Sy Waronker, President of Liberty Records. He and Eleanor Slatkin, Felix's widow, convinced everyone that Felix would have loved to have everything go on as scheduled. The name of the album was OUR WINTER LOVE. When the fifty to sixty piece orchestra started playing, emotions struck heavily with tears flowing throughout all sections of the orchestra. That was a moment I will treasure forever. To relive that moment, all I have to do is play the beautiful album, OUR WINTER LOVE."
¡ its very simililar to the bill pursell original! but also very beautiful

wonderful song, great backing vocals, wish someone would post the theme from the Sundowners from the 1960 movie by this great musician.

Great backgrounder on the session. I went to a seminar that featured Bill Putnam and other sound mixers. That was when real musicians played real instruments. T'would be nice to bring back those golden days.

I was a small boy when my aunt would play this and it was great then as now. Real instruments and real voices.

I'll second that. My folks had this one when I was a kid and all but wore it out. Would love to see this and Slatkin's "Season's Greetings" album out on CD again.
Violinist, arranger, conductor, composer, record company executive, and father of Leonard Slatkin. Clearly, a man who packed a lot into 47 years on Planet Earth...and all of it brilliantly.

One of the best records ever made! Wish someone would bring this out on a cd.
