Star Wars Galaxies (2003) in-game footage from May 1st, 2011.

Watch in HD for best audio & video quality.

The main attraction is my large Tatooine house, but you also get to see possibly the largest player city in Europe-FarStar galaxy - Prometheus. The video ends with a visit to the city mall.

UPDATE: SWG is closing down on Dec 15th, 2011. More information here:
http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/playerinfo/

Triggered content id match with Warner Chappell. All music in this video is actual in-game background music composed by John Williams (the game uses themes from the movies).

Not-so-fun fact: Only a day after recording this video, Sony Online Entertainment had to shut down all online services (SWG being just one of many) due to customer data breach.

  • @Kuokka77 yeah you did, the in game name me and my sister had was Lakrimita and Milak. We had a city in Lok too, Lakcity. But when we started you and others from Prometeus helped us get started. I'll miss this game, are you going to play swotor? Would like to play with you guy again some day!

  • @MrBasboris Absolutely zero interest in SWTOR. The only mmorpg i'm keeping my eye on at the moment is ArcheAge. Sadly it's fantasy, but at least it's a sandbox and not yet another themepark.

  • From Sweden with love! You helped me in the beginning and thanks to you I became one of the best crafters in Farstar! Will miss you and this great game. Greetings Lakrimita, Milak from LaK

  • @MrBasboris I did? Cool. How? When? :D I feel horrible for not remembering. I had a habit of removing "inactive contacts" from my friendslist (if you ever were there - i wasn't too hasty adding people to my list, so don't take it personally).

  • Can people still play this game?

Do I need to pay to play?

Do I need to buy a copy?

If i only hadent been so young when this game was released.

I wouldve loved playing this game when it was released if I wouldve been around 17 years old, and this game was still active.

  • @Elrohof I updated the video description to contain a link to the official SOE announcement about SWG's closure. There are important dates there you need to know if you still want to join the game (and yes it still costs money - for a while).

  • @Kuokka77 Ya.. SWTOR just didn't fill the shoes. I mean I tried my hardest to truly accept it but, it's not the same and it's way to... empty. Guess nothing can replace Galaxies.

  • still better than wows graphics take off shadows.

  • Awesome video! This is just one aspect of what SWG offered that no other game can come close to.

  • game was so ahead of it's time

  • do people put up their own servers and emulate the game? I feel like they easily could

  • @BiggestTwoNoobs

Space Combat really needs some work, i played the beta over the weekend and it's... well a tunnel shooter.

The Developers has said that over time they will improve and listen to feedback on any changes, apart from that SWTOR looks like a solid game to play.

Shame that SWG is closing however, so many good memories playing it :)
